After completing a my 1/6 Kousaka Tamaki on Knees, I painted two more figures that I will display in a local hobby event. One them is a 1/6 Belldandy in a wedding dress. The other one is this, a 1/4 Kurosawa Toko.

Painted Kit: 1/6 Kousaka Tamaki on Knees

I'm finally back to painting my kits again. I haven't painted a resin figure in almost 2 years. The last two figures I painted were a 1/6 Misato in plugsuit and a 1/3 Kanu Unchou. I decided to just jump right into it to see much I need to relearn. And yeah, I need some practice. Luckily the finished figure didn't suffer too much.

The figure I painted is a 1/6 Kousaka Tamaki on her knees. A really nice big figure I've been wanting to paint. As my first resin figure in 2 years, the finished figure needs a lot to be desired in terms of build and paint quality. I skipped doing quite a lot of basic resin kit preparation and fixing some imperfections on the kit due to time constrictions and these showed up quite well on the finished paint job.

Anyway, here's she is.

Kit comparison: 1/100 RE Nightingale and 1/100 SMS Nightingale

Ever since the announcement of Bandai's 1/100 RE Nightingale kit, I wanted to compare it with my 1/100 SMS Nightingale fulle resin kit. The Nightingale is one of the most popular mobile suits that Gunpla modellers wanted to see realized as a 1/100 Gunpla kit. For years the unit only came in full resin and resin conversion kits until the release of a plastic model kit by Regulation Center a few years ago. Unfortunately, not a lot of modellers work with resin kits and the plastic kit was full of quality issues. This year saw the release of the first official 1/100 Nightingale from Bandai through their new 1/100 kit line called Reborn. This will be a simple comparison between the 1/100 Reborn Nightingale and the 1/100 SMS Nightingale full resin kit, one of the most popular and well known of the Nightingale's resin kits.

The most noticeable difference between the two is larger and bulkier features of the SMS kit.

Painted Kit: 1/6 Misato in plugsuit

This is the second of the two resin kits I painted this week along with a 1/3 Kanu Unchou. This is a 1/6 Misato in plugsuit. Its from E2046's Ori series of kits, original sculpt figures by E2046. It is designed to match Shunya Yamashita's Rei and Asuka in plugsuit resin kit figures.
