Painting: 1/100 Kshatriya Resin Kit - Arms and Shoulder

A few weeks after completing my 1/6 Ryumou Shimei Hadaka Apron, I have finally completed the next section for the Kshatriya. Last time on the Kshatriya, it was the legs and feet that I completed painting. Now its time for the arms and shoulder.

As with all the other sections of the kit, the painting process is all pretty much the same. After the primer follows the white paint, pre-shade and the metallic pearl finish.

There is one piece that on the shoulder that will be yellow, so that is painted after the white and finished with metallic light gold.

There isn't a lot of color separation for the arms, so after the main green color, two sections get masked and each get a different shade of green. After all the greens are set, a green pre-shade is applied finished with metallic green.

A few pieces also get some silver and bronze colors.

With all colors done, some detailing is in order.

The colors for the hands get handpainted, instead of airbrushed. First with black then with a metallic black and finally detailed with some bronze.

The colors for the "Sleeves" (a sort of insignia used by the group the Kshatriya belongs to) were also handpainted. Normally, modellers would use reverse wash to paint this type of area. But I find that a bit too much work so I use my own technique. Since the area is depressed, I literally "fill" in the area with paint with drops of paint applied with a brush and spread around to create a pool.

After the details are done, decals are applied and a coat of clear gloss.

Assembly of the arms and shoulder are pretty straight forward and simple.

Once completed, they can now be connected to the torso and complete the Kshatriya MS.

Following the arms and shoulder will be the 4 huge binders on the Kshatriya's shoulder.
