Straight Build: LM-HG 3rd Angel Sachiel

After getting most all of the Eva units, I was luckily able to come across another Eva kit from the LM-HG line. This time its the second angel in the kit's series, The 3rd Angel Sachiel. I believe it is the second to the last of the LM-HG Eva series with the final version of the Eva-05 being the last.

I'm not sure if this was a hard to find kit in the years of its initial release, but now its one of the rarer kits in the Eva series kits.

There are two things that make this kit unique to the other Eva kits. First is its utilization of an inner skeleton. This skeleton works along side the second unique feature of the kit; which is the rubber body or skin. Since Sachiel is nearly all organic, making a plastic body wouldn't make the finished kit look right and the rubber skin suits the overall look much better.

Building the kit starts with the skeleton and the first parts built are the legs. Comprised simply of a hip joint and a knee joint. The knee is secured in place by a washer and screw.

After the knee, the spine is built. The spine is composed of an upper back, two vertebrates and a pelvis.

The last section of the skeleton are the arms. Each arm has two shoulder joints, a joint on the bicep and a ball joint on the elbow.

Here are the sections of the skeleton and how they would look like once inside the body.

After the skeleton is built, the rubber body is prepared. Here's what the front and back looks like.

First thing that needs to be done is remove the large excess piece of rubber on the back. This needs to be carefully cut since the rubber will easily tear.

Next holes on the front and back are cut or poked through depending on he piece that will be places there.

After the holes on body are done, the face, heart and ribs of Sachiel are put in place.

The face, heart and ribs needed holes cut on the body since they are secured from the inside by pieces attached though pegs. The spikes around the face go through small holes poked with a pin and the ends of the pieces act as anchors.

Once the front pieces are secured, the skeleton in positioned inside the body.

Next spikes on the lower back and the "gills" on the legs are attached to the body.

Just like the spikes around the face, they anchor themselves though pinholes on the body.

After that the back plate is attached. The back plate comes in two pieces. One goes inside the body, connects to a ball joint on the upper back section of the spine and has pegs going through holes made on the body. The second piece connects to the pegs of the inside pieces and sandwiches the skin in between.

This completes the build for the body.

Next we move to the forearms and hands. The hand is made of three fingers with large claws. There are also spikes permanently attached to the elbow and removable ones that come out the palms. The forearm is connected to the body via the ball at the elbow.

The last sections of the build are the feet and the shoulder pieces. The foot is split in two with one piece having the whole sole and the inside ankle. The shoulder piece is made of two pieces with a ball socket to attach it to the shoulder.

The kit is completed with the attachment of the feet and the shoulder pieces to the body.

Later I will be painting the kit.
